Construction Equipment Mechanic


Val-d'Or, QC, Canada | Full-time


Under the direction of his foreman, the mechanic will be responsible for preventive maintenance and equipment repairs, including mechanical, hydraulic and electrical diagnostics. You will also carry out welding work and ensure that a safe work environment is maintained, in compliance with health and safety standards.

Compensation

Starting at $36.00 per hour

Job Duties

  • Maintain machinery

  • Carry out diagnostics and repairs (minor and major)

  • Repair and perform maintenance on equipment (bulldozer, scoop, drill)

  • Diagnosing equipment breakdowns (mechanical, hydraulic)

  • Carry out mechanical repairs

  • Write maintenance reports

  • Perform your work in compliance with health, safety and environmental standards

  • Any other related tasks


Ideal Candidate

  • Mechanical construction machinery: 3 years (Mandatory)

  • Hold vocational training (D.E.P.) in construction equipment mechanics or mobile mine machinery mechanics

  • Having your mining modules (1-2-3-4-5-7) is an asset

  • Have knowledge and experience in hydraulics, electrical and welding

  • Have research and teamwork skills

  • Be able to work 12 hours with alternating day and night (7-7)

  • Having worked in the mining industry is an asset


Licenses/Training

  • DVS/ AEC or Certificate (Mandatory)

  • Driver's License (Mandatory)

  • General Explosive Permit (Required)
